Victorian Longcase Clock with pretty painted Dial with Shell
A Mid 19th Century Oak and Mahogany Long Case Clock with inlaid shell design features to the front of the case, the square hood with swan neck pediment has brass finial and turned brass mounted wooded columns flanking a glass fronted door.
The dial is square with a top arch, the arch displays a hand painted shell as do the corners surrounding the face, which has a numbered dial marking the hours and the ¼ hour minutes marked on an outer ring, there is a supplementary small second dial and an aperture showing the day of month.
The hands are ornate brass. The movement is an eight-day movement striking the hour to a bell, this has recently been services and comes complete with pendulum and 2 weights
